Pierre Refrigeration Services repairs, replaces and maintains home air conditioning and heating in Snellville and the Gwinnett County communities around it. If your AC runs without cooling, ices up at the outdoor unit, or the house will not stay warm, tell us when it started. The system is measured first, so you know whether it needs a repair or a replacement.
What it is doing, and how urgent it is
A few warning signs call for stopping use immediately. Others give you time to note the temperature, noise, or pattern before arranging service. Start with what you can safely observe.
- Stop using it A burning or electrical smell from a vent or outdoor unit
- Stop using it The breaker trips whenever the AC or heating system starts
- Call today The house will not cool or heat to the thermostat setting
- Call today The AC or heat runs constantly and never catches up
- Call today Ice on the refrigerant lines at the outdoor unit
- Call today Water pooling around the indoor air handler
- Monitor it Some rooms never catch up with the rest of the house
- Monitor it Unusual noise or short-cycling that started recently
When your home AC or heating stops working
-
Home air conditioning repair
When your AC runs but the house stays warm, keeps starting and stopping, or develops ice on the lines, a diagnosis can separate airflow, electrical and cooling problems before you decide on a repair.
-
Home heating repair
Get help when the house will not hold heat, the furnace or heat pump short-cycles, or some rooms never catch up. Note where the cold spots are and when they show up.
Due for a new home AC or heating system?
When an air conditioner, heat pump or furnace is at the end of its life, we supply the new system and install it as one job. The old system is measured first, so the replacement is sized to the house rather than copied from the old unit, and you see why the old one is not worth another repair.
-
When it is time
A failed compressor on an older system, a cracked heat exchanger on a gas furnace, or an AC that still runs on R-22, a refrigerant no longer produced in the US.
-
What is replaced
Central air conditioners, heat pumps, furnaces and mini-splits, and the thermostat that runs them.
-
What a quote depends on
The size of the house and the system, whether the existing ductwork, lines and electrical can be reused, and where the equipment sits.
Keeping your home AC and heating from failing
An air conditioner looked after before the first hot week, and a furnace before the first cold night, are less likely to fail when they are needed. A maintenance visit checks the filter, cleans the outdoor coil, clears the condensate drain, and tests cooling or heating and the thermostat, so a small fault is found while it is still small.

Commercial habits on a home call
An AC that will not cool, or heat that will not hold, can have several causes. An on-site evaluation helps identify the failed part or system condition.

Measured first
The system is measured before anything is recommended. If a repair makes sense, that is what you are offered; if the system is worn out, you see why before you choose a replacement.
Questions homeowners ask
- Do you repair home refrigerators?
- No. We do not repair residential refrigerators or freezers. Home service covers air conditioning and heating only. If your house will not cool or heat to the thermostat setting, describe when it started and what you have noticed so a visit can focus on the HVAC system rather than an appliance we cannot service.
- What services does Pierre Refrigeration Services offer?
- Pierre Refrigeration Services offers commercial HVAC and commercial foodservice refrigeration for businesses, including walk-in coolers and freezers, reach-ins, and ice machines, plus home air conditioning and heating. The company does not offer restaurant or kitchen plumbing, and does not repair residential refrigerators or freezers. Coverage is based in Snellville and approved Gwinnett County communities.
- My AC runs all day and the house still is not cool. What is wrong?
- Running constantly without reaching setpoint usually means the system cannot reject heat or has lost charge. Dirty condenser coils, a failing capacitor and a refrigerant leak all produce that symptom, and they are told apart by measurement rather than by looking at the unit.
- Do you work on heating as well?
- Yes. Home air conditioning and heating are the residential services offered. Call and ask about anything else in the house — it is better to say so directly than to send someone who cannot help.
